The Office of the Vice President Education and Student Affairs is the central hub of the University of Zurich for teaching and study-related cross-sectional tasks. It offers advice and courses for lecturers, promotes strategic teaching and quality development and is responsible for various aspects of lifelong learning. It provides cross-faculty study information and advisory services for students and administers the centrally organized processes from application to graduation.
We actively promote networking among lecturers and thus strengthen the sense of belonging within the teaching community. Well connected and with combined strengths, we meet the demands of a rapidly changing society.
Being a successful student means more than just getting a degree. Your studies shape the entire course of your life and prepare you for making responsible contributions to our shared future. We have launched the Future of Teaching initiative in order to more vigorously and strategically coordinate and promote these developments.
The School for Transdisciplinary Studies was built in 2021. It is a hub for inter- and transdisciplinarily oriented courses offered by various university-wide initiatives and faculties.
School students from Zurich secondary schools are able to attend regular study modules at UZH and thus deepen and broaden their subject knowledge.
The UZH Teaching Fund, which has been in place since 2016, was replaced by the broader UZH Teaching Fund (ULF) as of August 1, 2022. The funding amount has been almost tripled to CHF 2 million per year starting in 2023.
The plattform Teaching Tools offers concise and evidence-based information, advice and inspiration for teachers and all other people involved in teaching affairs at the University of Zurich.
